The delegate of the Government of Spain in Castilla-La Mancha, José Pablo Sabrido, has presided over the institutional act of the Holy Guardian Angels, patrons of the National Police.
Toledo.- The delegate of the Government of Spain in Castilla-La Mancha, José Pablo Sabrido, has presided over the institutional act of the Holy Guardian Angels, patrons of the National Police.
He highlighted the action of the Government in the increase of the troops of the National Police of Castilla-La Mancha, calculating that increase in 354 troops, which translates into 25 percent more than the agents that were in the region in 2018.
In total, the National Police Force has 1755 personnel available in Castilla-La Mancha distributed in the ten police stations in the region: Toledo, where it shares headquarters with the National Police Headquarters, Talavera de la Reina, Guadalajara, the provincial police station of Cuenca, Hellín, the provincial police station of Albacete, Puertollano, Alcázar de San Juan, Valdepeñas and the provincial police station of Ciudad Real.
This is one of the reasons why Castilla-La Mancha is eight points below the crime rate in Spain, according to the delegate, who says that “Castilla-La Mancha is a safe region”, as well as Spain, which is “one of the safest nations in Europe”.
In addition, Sabrido has had a special memory for the national police who are working in Ceuta, highlighting the “dignity of the people” and verbalizing three issues: “the Spanishness of Ceuta, my solidarity and empathy with all the Ceutis, and my gratitude to the men and women of the National Police, who together with other State Security Forces and Bodies, especially the Civil Guard with the support of the Armed Forces, work tirelessly to get everything back to normal as soon as possible.”
“You have made the vocation of service your way of life”
The government delegate wanted to thank the agents of the National Police for their vocation of public service and for putting general security before their own particular interests. “Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of you who carry years of service and to those who have just begun, to those who bear visible wounds and to those who carry them within, to those who are present and to those who are on service,” he said.
Sabrido also wanted to emphasize the type of actions of the National Police that are not so visible to the citizen, “the one that collects a complaint, the one that accompanies a victim, the one that protects a woman victim of gender violence, the one that attends to a tourist who has been a victim of a crime, the one that helps an elderly person who has been a victim of a scam, the one that intervenes in the face of a problem of coexistence, and the one that listens,” he said.
On the other hand, the government delegate made a special mention to Francisco Herrero, former Superior Chief of the National Police in Castilla-La Mancha, whom he thanked for his work at the head of the body during his professional stage: “The best service always thinking about the citizen, about making things easier for him. You will certainly have the satisfaction of your duty fulfilled and I assure you that you have the respect and affection of all of us who know you.”
"We are very lucky to be policemen and to love what we do"
The senior head of the National Police in Castilla-La Mancha in office, José Alberto Camacho, highlighted during his speech the pride of the institution, as well as that of everyone who makes it up.
After publicly congratulating the more than 2000 members of the National Police among agents and officials, Camacho wanted to highlight the triple mission carried out by the body: "Ensuring security, upholding legality and protecting the integrity of all."
In addition, he said that "security is the result of a sum of efforts", after thanking the presence on the most important day of the National Police to the Civil Guard, Armed Forces and members of private security.
The government delegate has been accompanied by the acting Superior Chief of the National Police of Castilla-La Mancha, José Alberto Camacho, the Mayor of Toledo, Carlos Velázquez, the regional government’s Spokeswoman Councilor, Esther Padilla or the interim head of the second area of the Civil Guard, Jesús Manuel Rodrigo, among other institutions.
