Albacete.- The delegate of the Government of Spain in Castilla-La Mancha, José Pablo Sabrido, has visited the security device of the Albacete Fair, which began last Monday, September 7 and will end next Thursday, September 17.
Sabrido has assured that “the best fair in the world, that we have it” must be “safe”, thanking the State Security Forces and Bodies for their work, as well as their collaboration with the local security bodies.
The delegate of the Government explained that the device has National Police forces from the province of Albacete, as well as a reinforcement from the provinces of Guadalajara, Cuenca, Ciudad Real, Toledo, “and even from the province of Valencia”: “They do a fundamental work in prevention and reaction to crimes, and have already done work in the field of crimes against drugs, fundamental so that crimes are not due to the fair”.
With regard to the Civil Guard, Sabrido has added that “it is going to be fundamentally concerned that in the municipalities that surround us there is also security because there are many organized groups that seek to take advantage”, in addition to work on road safety.
On the other hand, the delegate has stressed that the Civil Guard will carry out inspection work during the Albacete Fair to ensure that the sale of knives, a vital sector in the economic fabric of Albacete, is carried out “in a legal and effectively safe way”.
By way of conclusion, Sabrido has highlighted that Albacete, Castilla-La Mancha and Spain are safe places, and that the more than three million people who visit the city these days “can feel safe because we have services, magnificent Security Forces and Bodies, which are overturned and which transfer absolute security to us”.

By the Albacete Fair, located in an area of 180,000 square meters, more than three million people passed in 2025; generating profits of 117 million euros and 5,000 direct jobs.

In the presentation of the police deployment, which took place next to the Fair Isabel Bonal School, in the vicinity of the fairground, there were also the subdelegate of the Government in the province of Albacete, Miguel Juan Espinosa; the mayor of Albacete, Manuel Serrano; the provincial commissioner of the National Police, Antonio López-Alcahut; and the colonel head of the II area of the Civil Guard, Jesús Manuel Rodrigo.
