Campillo de Altobuey (Cuenca).- The delegate of the Government of Spain in Castilla-La Mancha, José Pablo Sabrido, has visited the new City Hall of the town of Campillo de Altobuey.

He highlighted the Government of Spain’s commitment to the town of Conquense, where investments totalling 2,707,503.44 euros have been made distributed in several projects, such as the reform of the City Council, the residence of elderly people as well as their equipment, the house of culture or the supply of drinking water.

This funding corresponds to European funds obtained by the government of Pedro Sánchez, which makes the government delegate “proud to belong to the government”, since these funds have allowed the recovery of many villages of Castilla-La Mancha.

Regarding the City Council, the Ministry of Transport granted a grant through Line 2 of the call for aid for the rehabilitation of public buildings within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, dated July 21, 2023. Of the total project, with a budget of 1,161,600.00 euros, 993,202.53 euros have been financed by the Government of Spain.

These works are aimed at the rehabilitation for an improvement in the energy efficiency of the building, through the significant reduction of energy consumption, with actions such as insulation on the roof and on the floor and the replacement of carpentry shops. Installation of air conditioning system by aerothermia. Renovation of indoor facilities systems (lighting, electricity, plumbing and sanitation). And updating of the interior spaces, to improve the accessibility and habitability of the building.

In addition, of the total investment in the house of culture, which amounts to a total of 362,430 euros, granted in grant by the Ministry of Transport through Line 2 of the call for aid for the rehabilitation of public buildings within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, 284,508.20 euros have been financed.

On the other hand, the Government of Spain has financed through the Next Generation funds 1 million euros of the total of 5.6 to which the work of the senior citizens’ residence amounts, which will have 80 places for users and a heliport, and for which 30,000 euros have also been financed for its equipment, managed by the Board of Communities of Castilla-La Mancha.

Finally, on the project to improve the supply of drinking water in the municipality, the Government of Spain has financed almost 400,000 euros of the project, managed by the Community Board of Castilla-La Mancha.

Institutional collaboration

These investments are a clear example of interinstitutional management for the benefit of the citizen. Sabrido has asserted that “all administrations have an obligation, which is to collaborate and coordinate in a single task, regardless of the color of the political party. Our duty as politicians and as an administration is to serve the citizen.”

In this sense, he warned that “if we turn some politicians against others, we forget what our fundamental mission is, which is to provide services to citizens, health services, social services, work, education. That is our duty, and to do it all together,” he concluded.

The government delegate was accompanied by the provincial subdelegate Mari Luz Fernández, the president of the County Council of Cuenca, Álvaro Martínez Chana, the delegate of the Community Board of Castilla-La Mancha in the province, María Ángeles López, and the mayor of the town, Francisco López.
