Ruidera (Ciudad Real).- The delegate of the Government of Spain in Castilla-La Mancha, José Pablo Sabrido, has presented, together with the Colonel of the Civil Guard interim chief of the Area of Castilla-La Mancha, Jesús Manuel Rodrigo, the security device of the Civil Guard on the occasion of the summer reinforcement for the bathing campaign in the Natural Park of Las Lagunas de Ruidera.

A device whose objective is to offer security to the approximately 15,000 people who come to the Natural Park during daily days, a figure that amounts to 20,000 during bridges and weekends, and which will be operational until September 15.

Sabrido wanted to highlight the coordination work of the Civil Guard in security guarantee work: "All the means that will contribute to the safety of all visitors and in defense of nature are prepared."

In addition, he wanted to send a message to the citizens so that they can enjoy this natural park asking for prudence; “the Civil Guard is prepared but I want to call the attention of all citizens and I ask for prudence on the road to arrive, prudence in the use of natural resources so that there are no perverse effects of pollution, fires…and I ask for much prudence also in taking care of their own integrity”

About the device and news

For this year, Citizen Security units will be present:

• SEPRONA (a UPRONA unit with 3 drones allows the search for people, prevention of fires and location of illegal activities and 1 more drone extracts water for analysis. This unit also has buoys and sensors to detect possible water pollution and level variations in the face of possible illegal extractions)
• Mountain Service Patrol (SEMON)
• Canine Unit specialized in drugs of the Cinological Service
• Subsector of Traffic GC
• GEAS (Group of Specialists in Underwater Activities)
• Air Service
• Cavalry Group
• Team PEGASO (Specialist Police in Aeronautical Management and Operational Safety) 1 surveillance drone.

The Acting Colonel of the Area of Castilla-La Mancha, Jesús Manuel Rodrigo, has highlighted as a novelty this year the mobile office of attention to the citizen “so that any visitor to the park or citizen of the populations of the area of Las Lagunas who has an incident, can file a complaint without having to travel to any unit of the Civil Guard but can do so before the patrols that provide their service in the park”.

They have been during the route of the device, in addition to the subdelegates of the Government of Albacete and Ciudad Real, the mayors of the area, including Ruidera and Ossa de Montiel.

The Civil Guard reminds all citizens that in the face of the slightest indication of the commission of any type of crime or in the event that they need help or assistance, do not hesitate to call their emergency number, 062, available 24 hours a day.

It also informs of the existence of the free mobile application ALERTCOPS so that in any eventuality they can contact the State Security Forces and Bodies.
