Toledo.- The Minister of Education, Vocational Training and Sports, Milagros Tolón, attended this Thursday afternoon the proclamation of the VIII Centenary of the Cathedral of Toledo, an event organized by the Cabildo of the Cathedral of Toledo to which the government delegate in Castilla-La Mancha, José Pablo Sabrido, also attended.
In July 2025, the Government declared the 8th Centenary of the Cathedral of Toledo as an Event of Exceptional Public Interest, a legal figure that allows companies and individuals who collaborate with the activities included in the official celebration program to benefit from significant tax deductions, much higher than those of general patronage.
Other events that also have this nomenclature are the Tapies Year, the Centenary of Eduardo Chillida, the Jacobean Year 2027, the Centenary of the Generation of 27, or the Comic-Con of Malaga.
The event was attended by the Dean of the Cathedral of Toledo, Juan Pedro Sánchez Gamero; the Pope’s nuncio, Piero Pioppo, and the closing was carried out by the Archbishop of Toledo, Francisco Cerro Chaves. The Secretary General of the Spanish Episcopal Conference, César García Magán, the Mayor of Toledo, Carlos Velázquez, the President of the Provincial Council of Toledo, Concepción Cedillo, and the delegate of the Board of Communities, Álvaro Gutiérrez, among other authorities, also attended.
