Toledo.- The delegate of the Government of Spain in Castilla-La Mancha, Milagros Tolón, received today in Toledo the representatives of the 13 companies that received aid from the Government of Spain in the last resolution of 2024 convened by the Ministry of Finance and through the Regional Incentives program.
As Milagros Tolón explained, “the Regional Incentives Program of the Ministry of Finance is an essential tool to boost economic activity, generate employment and strengthen territorial cohesion. It aims to support projects that promote business growth and economic dynamisation from the perspective of sustainability and sustainable development.”
The best of the productive fabric
The government delegate stressed that “the companies that accompany us today represent the best of the productive fabric: sectors such as industry, technology, logistics, renewable energies, artificial intelligence and agri-food. And they not only generate wealth and employment, but also position Castilla-La Mancha as a strategic region in the national economy.”
The event was also attended by Javier Rosell, General Director of Companies, Competitiveness and Internationalization of the Board of Communities, responsible for the work of processing and monitoring this aid, “thanks to the Board of Communities for the work it does and that allows this aid from the Government of Spain to reach the companies of Castilla-La Mancha and contribute to increasing productive investment and employment in our region,” stressed the delegate.
Milagros Tolón recalled that in the last order of the Ministry “13 projects were approved presented by the companies that accompany us today, which have received 37.5 million euros of subsidy and represent a total investment of 164.1 million euros. They will also create 327 new jobs and maintain another 4,111 jobs.”
Resolution added to that of October 2024, which allocated more than 38 million euros to 16 business projects, favoring the creation of 512 new jobs.
75 million euros in Regional Incentives
“In total, the Government of Spain granted in 2024 a total of 75 million euros of regional incentives for 29 investment projects in Castilla-La Mancha that will allow the creation of 839 new jobs and a total mobilization of more than 346 million euros,” said the delegate of the Government.
Among all the grants, Milagros Tolón has highlighted the two most significant grants awarded in 2024. “On the one hand, the Substrate AI project, for the creation of a data center and development of artificial intelligence in Talavera de la Reina (Toledo). The total investment in this case is almost 80 million euros, with an aid of 19.4 million euros from the Government of Spain.”
On the other hand, “the 19 million euros to Barataria Hydrogen Industry SL, for a project in Alcázar de San Juan, corresponding to the resolution of October”.
Support for private investment
Milagros Tolón stressed that “from the Government of Spain we are clear that support for private investment is key to promote a sustainable and competitive economic model. Therefore, regional incentives help generate new opportunities and favor the expansion and modernization of companies by improving their technological capacity and their projection in national and international markets. The incentive program not only boosts the economy; it also strengthens our ability to meet the challenges of climate change. Supporting innovation, renewable energies and energy efficiency is a commitment to sustainable development that benefits the whole of society.”
In addition, “these grants are a tool for social and territorial cohesion. Each supported business project helps to revitalize rural areas, to establish population and generate opportunities in rural areas, combating depopulation and the demographic challenge. The commitment of the Government of Spain is firm and continuous and this cooperation explains, to a large extent, the extraordinary economic moment that Spain is going through, being the driving force behind the growth of the European Union with more than 21.2 million members of Social Security.”
Transformation Plan of the Spanish Government
The government delegate opted “for this public-private partnership model that makes economic progress, social welfare and inclusive growth possible. And in this line is also framed the Transformation Plan of the Government of Spain, which allocates 2,256 million euros to Castilla-La Mancha, with a total of more than 47,000 beneficiaries, of which 66 percent are large companies, SMEs or microenterprises.”
Because, “together, as I said before, we are contributing to a growth that is noticeable in Castilla-La Mancha with:
-an increase in Social Security affiliations, which grew by 2.15% in 2024 to reach 789,341 contributors, 16,648 more than in December 2023
-a registered unemployment drop of 5.44%
-and an increase in undefined contracts amounting to 276,721, 269% more than in 2019”.
And to conclude, Milagros Tolón has congratulated the companies benefiting from this aid. “His vision, his capacity for innovation and his commitment to job creation are a fundamental part of this gear. Count on the Government of Spain as a firm ally in its growth and together we will continue to work to make Castilla-La Mancha a land of progress and opportunities.”
