Cuenca.- The delegate of the Government of Spain in Castilla-La Mancha, Milagros Tolón, participated this Monday in Cuenca in the minute of silence called for the 20th anniversary of the attacks of March 11 in Madrid.
Milagros Tolón said that, on this day, “our memories are with the victims and their families. We share the pain of the people who lost their loved ones and our hearts feel equally the emptiness of their absence. We also share the suffering of the hundreds of wounded and those who were close to such a traumatic experience.”
The Government delegate has said that this is also a day “for the recognition of all the security forces and bodies and emergency services that participated in the care of the victims” and has valued the citizen response in support of the victims and their relatives.
The event, held in the Arcos del Consistorio and coinciding with the European Day of the Victims of Terrorism, was attended by the Mayor of Cuenca, Darío Dolz, and members of the Municipal Corporation; the Deputy Delegate of the Government of Spain in Cuenca, Mª Luz Fernández; the Chief Commissioner of the National Police in Cuenca, Manuel Domínguez; the Chief of the Command of Cuenca, Lieutenant Colonel Mª Jesús Pascual, and representatives of various strata of Conquense society.
