Toledo. In the framework of the commemoration of March 8, International Women’s Day, tomorrow Thursday, March 7, at 6:00 pm in the auditorium of the Chamber of Commerce of Toledo (Plaza de San Vicente s/n), will take place a representation of monologues on the Environment in charge of “Las SinSombrero del Juanelo”, an event organized by the Government Delegation in Castilla-La Mancha. The entrance is free until the capacity is completed.
“Las SinSombrero del Juanelo” is a project that was born in the 2017/2018 academic year in the IES Juanelo Turriano of the capital of Castilla-La Mancha as a classroom activity linked to the Language and Literature classes with the aim of making visible the female talent, traditionally hidden in the history of art, culture and sciences. For this they took as a reference the name of the group of women that belonged to the Generation of 27.
The main objectives of “Las SinSombrero del Juanelo” are to make visible people of history who, due to various circumstances, be they sex, race, religion or culture, have not been visible or not with the relevance they deserve; the creation of original texts from the study of the character; and to structure a network of participation that involves the entire educational community of the IES Juanelo Turriano.
The titles of the pieces to be represented with their interpreters are as follows:
- “Las náyades del Tajo”, by Roberto Zarza and Ana Fernández.
- “Gea”, by Ana Martín.
- “Harrison Marriage”, by Hugo Molina and Aída Raboso
- “Edith Schwart”, by Lucía Horneros.
- “Emily Penn”, by Laura Flores.
- “Severn Cullis-Suzuki”, by Sofía de la Fuente.
- “Silvia Earle”, by Evelina Salasar
- “Rachel Carson”, by Elvira Usero.
