Adif and Adif High Speed take another step in the installation of more than 1,000 electric vehicle charging points with energy generated by renewable sources in the car parks of 80 passenger stations, thus contributing to the development of sustainable and connected mobility in urban and metropolitan environments.
The company has awarded the supply, installation, operation and maintenance of these recharging points for an amount of 18.3 million euros and an execution time of 30 months; of these, 24 months, correspond to the operation and maintenance phase. The company that will be in charge of this service is Repsol Comercial de Productos Petrolíferos.
In Castilla-La Mancha, this initiative will reach the stations of Albacete Los Llanos, Alcázar de San Juan, Ciudad Real, Cuenca, Cuenca Fernando Zóbel, Guadalajara Yebes, Puertollano, Tarancón and Toledo.
The objective is to promote clean transport in transfers to and from railway stations and will increase the services to passengers in these spaces, called to become nodes of sustainable and intelligent mobility.
With this project, Adif and Adif AV are committed to the development of electromobility in Spain, by configuring a large territorial network for charging electric vehicles with energy generated by renewable sources in all regions through which the railway network runs.
Adif and Adif AV strategy against climate change
This action is part of the Plan to Combat Climate Change of Adif and Adif AV 2018-2030, which includes the promotion of sustainable mobility and electromobility as a tool to meet the objectives of decarbonization of economic activity.
The initiative is part of the Ecomilla programme, which promotes energy-efficient and zero-emission mobility on first and last mile journeys, through the development of sustainable mobility areas for zero-emission vehicles and for shared vehicles, among other clean transport modes.
