Guadalajara.- The delegate of the Government of Spain in Castilla-La Mancha, Milagros Tolón, reported on Friday the data that "confirm the commitment of the Government of Spain with Castilla-La Mancha and Guadalajara and that show that Guadalajara "advances thanks to the Government of Spain".
Milagros Tolón, who appeared at a press conference in Guadalajara together with the deputy delegate, Mercedes Gómez, reviewed the measures approved by the Government of Spain “to respond to the serious challenges we have had in the last four years such as Covid-19, the war in Ukraine, the war in Gaza or climate change”.
Measures that aim to “protect people, benefit families and the most vulnerable, and expand opportunities for well-being and prosperity for all.”
A 29% increase
In this sense, thanks to the measures approved by the Government of Spain “a system of revaluation of pensions has been consolidated that are updated every year according to the cost of living”. It is “one of the greatest achievements of the last four years that allows retirees in our region and in the province of Guadalajara to have an allocation more in line with their needs”.
Specifically, with the Government of Pedro Sánchez, the average retirement pension in the province of Guadalajara has gone from 1,172 euros in 2018 to 1,512 euros for this 2024, an increase of 29%. “With the PP model, which has kept pensions frozen since 2013, the average retirement pension in Guadalajara today would be 1,190 euros, but with the current government it is 1,512 euros,” said Milagros Tolón. 27,960 retired pensioners from Guadalajara benefit from this measure.
Undefined contracts
On the other hand, the reforms in the labor field have allowed that since 2019 the number of indefinite contracts has increased in Guadalajara by 213%. Of the 10,066 contracts in 2019 “we have gone to 31,569 in 2024; that is, 21,503 indefinite contracts more than five years ago, when the PP ruled”.
On the other hand, the State allocated to the province 4.2 million euros in scholarships, from which 2,332 students benefited in the academic year 2022-2023; and, in terms of transport, thanks to the bonus and gratuitous measures of the Government of Spain “more than 18,000 neighbors of Guadalajara can travel free to Madrid to work or study”.
For the most vulnerable groups, the Minimum Vital Income has reached 7,907 people in Guadalajara; and the Social Electric Bonus benefits 7,671 people.
“The data confirm that people are the central axis of the action of the Government of Spain and their priority is that the agreements adopted in the Council of Ministers reach the people and improve the lives of the citizens who live in our towns and cities,” said the delegate. “Faced with the noise, these figures speak for themselves of the consistency and commitment of this government for the people, for Castilla-La Mancha and for Guadalajara,” he concluded.
Investments in Guadalajara
Mercedes Gómez, deputy delegate of the Government of Spain in the province of Guadalajara, said that all these projects of the State Executive benefit “the quality of life of the citizens who live and pass through the province of Guadalajara”.
In terms of infrastructure, Mercedes Gómez stressed that the rehabilitation works of the Entrepeñas viaduct, that of the N-204 road, have entered their last phase, “with a total investment of 2.3 million euros”. Regarding the N-320 road, he indicated that “the project of the new variant of Cuatro Caminos will soon be submitted to public information”.

Finally, he highlighted the investment of 4.5 million euros in broadband “in the rural area, so extensive and depopulated in the province of Guadalajara”.
