Toledo.- The delegate of the Government of Spain in Castilla-La Mancha, Francisco Tierraseca Galdón, has presided over the meeting of the Regional Commission for the Follow-up of the Special Plan for Employment in Depressed Rural Areas, where the proposal for distribution and the calendar of actions for this year has been approved, which provides for an increase in the budget, as well as in the salary of the beneficiary workers, thanks to the increase in the SMI.
The municipalities of Castilla-La Mancha that come to this Plan will have a total of 12,219,023.85 euros to hire unemployed workers of the special agrarian regime who will carry out works or services of general or social interest, “which shows an increase of 5% compared to the total amount destined for this Special Plan last year in the region, which was 11,637,165.42 euros”, said the delegate at the meeting.
In this regard, Tierraseca has influenced the great effort of the Government of Spain to promote this Plan and to increase the investment aimed at hiring each worker. “In the region, in 2018 we invested 769 euros for each unemployed worker in the agricultural sector and today we allocate 1,513 euros for each one, which means that the increase has been practically double what was invested five years ago.”
It will also allow, as happened in the last campaign, the contracted workers to receive a salary higher than the previous year, since it has again contemplated the increase of the Interprofessional Minimum Wage, Tierraseca has stressed.
At the same time, the delegate of the Government in the Autonomous Community recalled that this is a Plan “very demanded by the municipalities”, since the cost of contracting is assumed entirely by the State. Likewise, Tierraseca thanked “the high degree of responsibility of the municipalities” to comply with the established in the approved projects, since “the degree of implementation of the Plan of the year 2022 has been 99.99%”.
In addition, the Regional Commission has approved the proposal to distribute at the provincial level the appropriations of the Special Plan for Employment in Depressed Rural Areas, which will be used to hire 2,338 workers in the agricultural sector in Castilla-La Mancha. The proposal, which should now be analyzed in the Provincial Commissions, includes the hiring of 617 workers in the province of Albacete, 980 in the province of Ciudad Real, 33 in the province of Cuenca, 8 in the province of Guadalajara and 403 contracts in the province of Toledo.
Once the allocation of the appropriations has been approved at the provincial level, the respective provincial commissions will proceed to the approval of the distribution to each of the beneficiary municipalities, which will be approved through the weighting of the registered agricultural unemployment and the members of the SEASS.
The meeting was also attended by the heads of the Work Area and the Agriculture Area of the Government Delegation, the Employment Coordinator of the Ministry of Economy, Business and Employment, the provincial heads of the State Public Employment Service (SEPE) and the Social Security Treasury and representatives of the unions CCOO and UGT-FICA and of the agricultural organization ASAJA and the FEMP.
