Ciudad Real.- The delegate of the Government of Spain in Castilla-La Mancha, Francisco Tierraseca, has valued the "joint effort" of the institutions to condition and improve the public facilities dedicated to guaranteeing citizen security.
Tierraseca paid a visit to the Civil Guard Quarry in Puertollano (Ciudad Real), to learn about the rehabilitation works “of a project of great relevance for the Civil Guard”. An important action that is going to be implemented by the public company SEGIPSA and that has an investment of 2,023,362 million euros, which is financed from the European Funds Next Generatión, but also with the contribution of the Provincial Council of Ciudad Real in the amount of 495,318 euros.
Francisco Tierraseca has been accompanied in this event by the mayor of Puertollano, Adolfo Muñiz, the president of the Provincial Council, José Manuel Caballero, the president of Segipsa, Inés Bardón, the deputy delegate of the Government in Ciudad Real, María Ángeles Herreros, and the chief general of the Civil Guard in Castilla-La Mancha, Francisco Javier Cortés.
"It is essential that the administrations work together to benefit the security of the citizens and joining efforts to develop the facilities is a good example of this," said Tierraseca, thanking the Provincial Council for its "firm" involvement in this project. The delegate also praised that this support is not only in the project to improve the Puertollano barracks, but also in other construction or adaptation projects, “such as those in Almadén and Miguelturra” in this province, something for which he thanked its president, José Manuel Caballero.
The delegate of the Government of Spain in Castilla-La Mancha has also highlighted that this support of the provincial institution joins the collaboration - through agreement - that the Executive of Pedro Sánchez maintains with the provincial deputies, by which they contribute with Interior in the maintenance of the headquarters of the Civil Guard.
Less energy consumption
This rehabilitation action is part of a “reinforced strategy in the last four years to adapt the buildings for the security of the State to the needs”, with the objective of the professionals to carry out their work in better conditions and improve citizen care.
This work, in which it will operate on an area of more than 4,600 square meters, will contemplate works of rehabilitation and conditioning of a facility of the 60s. “The main objective of these works that we are carrying out in the cantonments is sustainability and energy efficiency, with a view to reducing energy consumption by at least 30%,” said the delegate.
Thus, an external thermal insulation system will be installed on the façade and the roof, and exterior windows and doors will be replaced by aluminum profiles with thermal bridge breakage and low emission double glasses with argon chamber.
In addition, the entire lighting system will be changed, replacing it with LED type lighting, and systems for collecting and transforming solar energy into electrical energy will be incorporated by photovoltaic procedures for their own use or supply to the network.
“I would like to highlight the clear commitment of the Government of Spain to the energy efficiency” of the units of the State Security Forces and Corps, and that, in the case of the province of Ciudad Real, Tierraseca has stated, “we want to act in the five companies of the Civil Guard in this province, which provides its security service to 63% of the population and covers, with its presence, 92% of the provincial territory.”
Along with this, with the financial contribution of the Provincial Council of Ciudad Real, the car park will be covered, the office pavilions will be reformed and reforms will be undertaken in the official offices in order to create a VioGén Office and a Videoconference room. In addition, action will be taken in the weapons intervention area and the meeting room and in the adaptation of the toilets.
Template increase
The government delegate took the opportunity to highlight the work of the professionals of the Civil Guard and the National Police to guarantee citizen security and recalled the increase in staff provided by the Government of Spain. “In Castilla-La Mancha we have reached 6,800 troops, with an increase of 9.6% in the last four years, some 590 more troops”, which in the case of the province of Ciudad Real “the figure improves, with an increase of 12.5% in these four years, 1,886 National Police and Civil Guard agents are present today in this province”, he said.
