Toledo.- The general secretary of Territorial Coordination of the Ministry of Territorial Policy, Myriam Álvarez, accompanied by the subdelegate of the Government in Toledo, Carlos Ángel Devia, visited today the municipality of Alcaudete de la Jara in Toledo, where they attended one of the presentation sessions of the program ‘The Administration near you’.
The information session was held at the Casa de la Cultura, where the mayor of the town, Cristina Cebas, and the mayors of Navalmorales and Belvís, Antonio Talaveras and José Carlos Martín, respectively, were present.
The deputy delegate of the Government thanked the mayor and the mayors of the bordering towns for their collaboration in the development of this program, which has already begun its second phase aimed at municipalities under 500 inhabitants, and has highlighted to the neighbors the usefulness of the Citizen Services Portfolio, which he said “they will be surprised, once they know it, of its usefulness”.
For her part, the General Secretary of Territorial Coordination has explained that the objective of this program ‘The Administration near you’ is to combat what the three existing gaps in small municipalities mean for her: “The digital divide, the geographical divide and the emotional divide”, the latter, he said, “is what makes us feel strange in the face of the advances of new technologies as if their world were not ours”.
In this sense, he has reported that, in a few months, as resources are incorporated, the final objective will be that each city council, through an agreement, has a few days allocated for public employees of the Delegations or Subdelegations to provide service to the neighbors and help them to manage this type of procedures.
The program ‘La Administración cerca de ti’ began in its pilot phase last November in the municipality of Jadraque.
In the first months of operation in the province of Toledo, as reported by the Subdelegate of the Government, Carlos Ángel Devia, a total of 27 municipalities have been visited for information sessions, which have gathered half a thousand people, having managed the staff of the Subdelegation of the Government of Toledo, 272 Permanent Access Cl@ve keys and 159 digital certificates so that the inhabitants of these towns can access the portfolio of digital services offered by the General Administration of the State, without the need to travel for processing.
In the municipality of Castilla-La Mancha, visits have reached 162 municipalities, with an attendance of 2,228 people, and have been processed at the request of citizens, a total of 692 Cl@ve Permanente access and 1,048 digital certificates.
The 400 public employees and employees of the delegations, government subdelegations and island directorates, who serve mainly in information and citizen care offices and record assistance offices, have held 807 information sessions, attended by 6,544 people, and have provided almost 3,700 digital certificates or access to Cl@ve Permanente in small municipalities throughout Spain.
This program is expected to reach 189 municipalities in Toledo, with a population between 500 and 8,000 inhabitants, which represents more than 90% of the existing towns in the province.
"The Administration near you" is intended to hold face-to-face sessions in the municipalities and inform the citizens about the services provided by the government delegations and subdelegations; in addition to processing the procedures requested or, where appropriate, collecting the data for their subsequent processing, and the possibility of providing the digital certificate to access from the villages to the electronic procedures of the public administrations.
The objective is to bring the Administration closer to the small municipalities to strengthen social and territorial cohesion, combat the digital divide and strengthen equal opportunities.
