Toledo.- The delegate of the Government of Spain in Castilla-La Mancha, Francisco Tierraseca, has highlighted the fruits of the commitment of the Executive of Pedro Sánchez with the pensioners of Castilla-La Mancha, once the revaluation of 8.5% of pensions has become effective, attending to the update of the IPC. Those fruits, the delegate has specified, are reflected that in the Castilian-Manchego retirees “they now receive, on average a month, 250 euros more than at the end of 2018”.
An assessment that Francisco Tierraseca shared with the sub-delegates and sub-delegates of the Government of Spain in the five provinces of the region after the publication of the pension data by the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration and in which it is evident that the 383,858 pensioners of Castilla-La Mancha have received, this January, an average pension of 1,100.68 euros.
Of these, the majority group corresponds to retired pensioners, who amount to 226,620 beneficiaries in this Autonomous Community (59% of pensioners) and who enter an average monthly benefit of 1,272.85 euros.
The current amount is the application of the commitment of the Government of Pedro Sánchez, agreed with the social agents, to update pensions according to the evolution of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and the result is that, in the last four years, the average monthly pension for retirement has been increased in Castilla-La Mancha by 250.18 euros, going from the 1,022.67 euros that was the amount fixed at the end of 2018 to the 1,272.85 euros of the last payroll in pensions, which most beneficiaries will see entered precisely this Wednesday 25.
The guarantee of the maintenance of the purchasing power of retirees means that this 2023, with the update of 8.5%, some 1,400 euros a year are going to be paid more than in 2022 for an average retirement benefit. The revaluation will involve a monthly increase of 99.67 euros per month for retirees in the region, which, multiplied by the 14 payments (the 12 ordinary and the two extras), represents a perception of about 1,400 euros more per year.
In addition, Tierraseca wanted to highlight another fact that demonstrates that the Government of Spain is “with the social majority” and adopts “courageous decisions, despite the various crises and difficult situations” that Spain, and Castilla-La Mancha, have gone through in this Legislature, such as the pandemic or the consequences of the War in Ukraine.
“If this government had maintained the 0.25% pension revaluation established by the previous government, the average pension for Castilla-La Mancha pensioners would have increased, throughout this year, just over 36 euros, instead of the almost 1,500 in which it is going to do so.”
In addition, the government delegate recalled that, in the case of the Minimum Vital Income (IMV) and non-contributory pensions, the increase is 15%. Among all the updates, in total, the system protects 11.8 million pensioners and recipients of benefits in our country.
“This government is committed to the protection of the social majority, with measures such as the revaluation by law of pensions with the IPC, and we will continue to do so,” insisted the government delegate in Castilla-La Mancha, in the valuation of these data.
Tierraseca concluded that “we are showing that there is another way to face a crisis and this is by shielding the purchasing power of pensioners and we do so decisively and with a view to guaranteeing social protection at all times”.
