The Ministry of Culture, through the General Directorate of Cultural Rights, has granted grants to finance cultural projects with a high social impact. Among the selected proposals are initiatives from the Cantabrian companies Backpack and Tanea, and the non-profit entity La Ortiga Colectivo de Santander, which will manage about 159,000 euros to develop actions focused on the rural and educational field.
The Ortiga Colectivo de Santander, a cultural association belonging to the Network of Spaces and Agents of Community Culture, will receive 56,000 euros to develop its project ‘Iberian network of laboratories of community culture and rurality: cultural mediation, participation and social inclusion’.
In the business sphere, the digital platform Backpack will have 54,770 euros for the realization of thematic activities of educational and social cinema in schools, while Tanea Documentation and Conservation, entity specialized in the study and enhancement of archaeological heritage, will invest 48,000 euros in the project ‘Expanded Culture: Cultural Rights and Ruralities for social inclusion. Rural women, migration and mental health’.
Out of a total of 1,064 applications filed at the state level, funding has been granted to 58 entities, 31 of them non-profit and 27 companies. The aid, which adds up to a total investment of more than 4.4 million euros, involves injections of between 10,000 and 100,000 euros for the selected projects.
