- The government delegate in Cantabria visited this Friday the industrial complex of the Dynasol Group and, subsequently, met in the City Hall with the mayor, Pedro Pérez Ferradas, and visited the facilities of the Sociedad Deportiva de Remo
The government delegate in Cantabria, Pedro Casares, has communicated to the mayor of Marina de Cudeyo, Pedro Pérez Ferradas, the authorization of the Government of Spain, through the General Directorate of the Coast and the Sea of the Ministry for Ecological Transition (MITECO), for the construction of the rowing trousers in Pedreña.
This has been transferred this Friday in the meeting that both have held at the headquarters of the City Council, located in the town of Rubayo, and after which they have visited the facilities of the Sports Society of Remo Pedreña to report this authorization to its president, Calixto Presmanes.
Casares stressed that it has been possible to “unblock” this issue in the Coasts area thanks to the joint work of the Government Delegation and the City of Marina de Cudeyo.
Once the action is authorized by the General Directorate of the Coast and the Sea, the City Council will tender the execution of the project, with an investment of 150,000 euros and four months of execution, and expects the trousers to be ready next summer.
On the other hand, it has addressed the demolition of the old house-barracks of Pedreña, whose next execution will be carried out by the Coastal Demarcation with an investment of about 40,000 euros that will mean both the demolition of the building and the cleaning of the farm.
He has detailed that it is an old house-barracks that is located in a land of 3,800 square meters, between the marina and the beach of El Cara, in Pedreña and that, once demolished, will go to the public domain.
Although, the mayor has told the delegate that the intention of the Consistory is to request the cession of use of these lands once this demolition has been carried out, since “they are in a privileged place and we want it to be enjoyed by all neighbors and visitors”.
Likewise, Casares and Pérez Ferradas have praised the importance of the Government of Spain going to demolish the structures abandoned for decades of the former SIMSA factory in Pontejos and, subsequently, execute an environmental recovery of the land in the area.
The contract to draft the project is in tender, said Casares, who hoped it could be awarded in early 2026.
VISIT TO THE DYNASOL INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX
Previously, the government delegate in Cantabria and the mayor of Marina de Cudeyo have visited the Dynasol industrial complex in Gajano, where they have known the technological center that is the most modern and avant-garde group formed by Repsol and KUO.
In its tour of the industrial complex that occupies more than 760,000 square meters and employs 250 workers, Casares has known the new production line of styrene-butadiene rubber (SSBR) in which the company has invested 72 million euros and which was inaugurated last July.
