The Delegation of the Government of Spain in Cantabria has observed this noon a minute of silence for the last confirmed victim of gender violence, a 37-year-old woman allegedly murdered by her partner in Alicante on October 24.
The Secretary General of the Government Delegation, Santiago García, and the head of the Unit for the Coordination of Violence against Women of the institution, Diana Mirones, have led this minute of silence at the doors of the headquarters of Calvo Sotelo.
After the confirmation of this case in Alicante, the Government Delegation against Gender Violence, under the Ministry of Equality, has confirmed another victim in Zaragoza.
To date, there are already 36 women victims of male violence in Spain so far in 2025, with 17 children orphaned. Since 1 January 2003 there are records, 1,331 women have been killed by their partners or ex-partners.
