The Government Delegation in Cantabria has taken stock of the Open Administration Week 2025, an initiative that has had an outstanding citizen participation and the active commitment of numerous public employees. In total, more than 600 people have attended the various activities organized between 19 and 25 May, which have included open days, guided tours, informative workshops and meetings with students.
The Government delegate in Cantabria, Eugenia Gómez de Diego, has very positively valued the development of this edition and has thanked the efforts of the more than 90 public employees who have participated. “The commitment of our public workers has been exemplary. This week has served to bring the Administration closer to the citizens, promote confidence in the institutions and show with transparency the work that is carried out day by day for the general interest."
The activities have involved the different areas of the Government Delegation such as the Violence against Women Unit, the High Inspection of Education or the Office of Foreigners, as well as state agencies with presence in Cantabria such as the Tax Agency, Social Security, AEMET, the Traffic Headquarters, the National Institute of Social Security, the National Police, the Civil Guard, Penitentiary Institutions, the National Geographic Institute or the Social Institute of the Navy.
Gómez de Diego wanted to emphasize the importance of this type of initiative to strengthen the links between citizens and institutions: "We want an open, close and useful administration. Let him listen, let him be accountable and let him be at the service of people. This week's excellent reception encourages us to continue working in this direction." As he said, "opening the doors of the Administration is fundamental to strengthen the confidence of citizens in the institutions."
