The Government Delegation in Cantabria will hold about twenty activities on the occasion of the Open Administration Week, which will take place between 19 and 25 May, with the aim of bringing institutions closer to the citizens, promoting transparency and promoting citizen participation.
Organized by the General Administration of the State in the territory, during the week there will be talks, open days, guided visits and informative sessions on the activity and procedures carried out by various State agencies with presence in the region, such as the Tax Agency, Social Security, the Traffic Headquarters, the Civil Guard, the National Police, the Social Institute of the Navy or the Aliens Office.
The programme will start on Monday 19 May with activities aimed at schools, professionals and trade unions, including a talk on the tax system, an exhibition on the Aliens Regulations and a visit to the El Dueso Penitentiary Centre that can be done throughout the week.
On Tuesday the 20th, open doors will be held at the National Police Headquarters aimed at elderly people, the Map House - with prior reservation by calling 942 999 363 or writing to tpv.santander@cnig.es- and in the State Meteorological Agency, in addition to informative sessions on the homologation of non-university foreign studies carried out by the High Educational Inspection and the inauguration of the third edition of the project 'Taking roots' in the Social Insertion Center 'José Hierro'.
On Wednesday 21, the Government Delegation will offer a talk on digital procedures aimed at retired people, while the Tax Agency will organize, from 6 p.m., a guided visit to its headquarters in Santander in which it will announce its history and outstanding architectural elements.
On Thursday, 22 staff of the Provincial Traffic and Social Security Headquarters will install a stand to report on the MiDGT and Import@ss apps. This last application, which allows to carry out in a simple and agile way various procedures related to working life, contributions or access to reports, will also be protagonist on Monday 19 and Friday 23, dates in which the Social Security will carry out specific actions of dissemination and advice on its use.
That same day the Unit against Gender Violence will offer a talk to the students of the Higher Degree of Technician of Equality Projects and at the Civil Guard quartering in Campogiro there will be a visit organized for people with disabilities.
Already on Friday 23, students of the IES Las Llamas will visit the headquarters of the Social Security and those who are interested can visit in the Port of Santander the sanitary vessel 'Juan de la Cosa', responsible for ensuring the safety and health of fishermen and workers of the sea while they are on board.
The scheduled visit to the ship 'Juan de la Cosa' is sponsored by the Social Security and the Social Institute of the Navy, and the university community of the University of Cantabria will be counted as luxury guides. These initiatives are part of the Open Government strategy promoted by the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory and are aimed at strengthening public confidence in public institutions through accessibility, accountability and participation.
