The delegate of the Government in Cantabria, Eugenia Gómez de Diego, held a meeting with the president of the Professional College of Political Sciences and Sociology of Cantabria, Francisco Sierra, in which they addressed the recent constitution of this entity after the approval of Royal Decree 114/2022, of February 8, which allowed its segregation from the National College of Doctors and Graduates in Political Sciences and Sociology.
During the meeting, Sierra has officially presented the professional college and expressed its gratitude to the Government Delegation in Cantabria and the Ministry of Justice for their role in processing the decree that has made it possible to create it. Currently, the entity has 75 members and works in a round of institutional contacts to get to know each other and explore ways of collaborating in studies, public policy evaluation and technical advice.
For her part, the Government delegate has stressed the importance of having a specific professional college in the region for the field of political sciences and sociology. "The analysis and evaluation of public policies are fundamental to improving management and decision-making, and the school can play a key role in this regard," said Gómez de Diego, who has positively valued the willingness of the collective to collaborate with administrations.
He also expressed his support for the development of this new entity and assured that the Government Delegation "will maintain an open and constructive dialogue" with the professional college.
The Professional College of Political Sciences and Sociology of Cantabria will continue with its agenda of meetings with different institutions and entities of the public and private sector with the aim of consolidating its presence in the autonomous community and highlighting the role of professionals in the sector.
