The Cantabrian Hydrographic Confederation is developing a ''Hydromorphological study and proposals for action on the Pas River, from the confluence with the Magdalena River to the limit of terrestrial maritime public domain (Cantabria), within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR)" with the engineering company WSP SPAIN-APIA.
The management of a basin, in addition to technical and environmental aspects, requires a deep understanding of the needs and perceptions of the community that interacts with it. For this reason, two days of social welcoming will be held with the objective of establishing and ensuring a sustainable and participatory management of the river space.
The first day will be held at the City Hall of Santiurde de Toranzo on February 25 from 18:00 to 20:00 hours, and will be centered on the high stretch of the Pas River. The second session will be held in the plenary hall of the City of Piélagos on Wednesday, February 26, at the same time, and on this occasion the lower stretch of the river will be discussed.
Citizens will have the opportunity to know the study, its objectives and to resolve their doubts. In addition, a report will be presented on the diagnosis made so far and a dialogue will be opened assessing the positive and negative aspects of the current situation of the Pas River, exploring the possibilities for action for future improvements.
