Adif will invest 1.5 million euros in the improvement and renovation of 1,224 meters of the three sideways of the Bárcena de Pie de Concha station, located on the Palencia-Santander line of the conventional network.
The project includes improvements to the track platform, rail refurbishment, sleepers and ballast layer, as well as actions in the electrification system, track devices (devices that allow the crossing of different tracks), communications, security facilities and interlocks.
The works, included in the Cantabria Proximity Plan, have been awarded to Contracts and Sales and will strengthen the interoperability of the network and increase the quality of the service. In this way, greater traffic capacity and the improvement of the competitiveness of railway services will be allowed.
All these actions contribute to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), which has among its goals the development of reliable, sustainable, resilient and quality infrastructures.
