The Cantabrian Hydrographic Confederation has begun maintenance, conservation and improvement work on the Regatón stream, in the municipality of Laredo.
These works are carried out within the framework of the Agreement signed with the City of Laredo for the development of actions of conservation and maintenance of channels in the municipal term, in which an investment of 160,000 € is contemplated for 4 years. Since the beginning of the proceedings, on 13 September 2023, €44,832.88 has been invested.
The actions in the Regatón stream, have an initial budget of 31.500 €, and consist of the removal of dry, sick, fallen or threatened trees, in order to maintain the drainage capacity of the river and avoid possible floods and damage to infrastructures.
These actions complement the work carried out since 2020 in the rural area of the channels of the municipal term of Laredo before the signing of the agreement, where 82,991.72 € were invested.
