The Cantabrian Hydrographic Confederation has begun work on maintenance, conservation and improvement of the innominate stream in the vicinity of the Veguilla neighborhood, in the municipality of Miera.
The performances are executed in a stretch of about 20 m and have an initial budget of 7000 €. The main tasks consist in the stabilization of the left margin, as well as in the clearing and adaptation of the vegetation present in the course.
The objective of this work is to avoid landslides in the riverbed, since the left margin of the innominate stream has been affected by erosion causing a landslide on the riverbed.
This work is carried out through the public company Tragsa within the Maintenance and Conservation of Waterways Program developed by the Cantabrian Hydrographic Confederation outside urban areas, since in urban areas the conservation and maintenance of waterways are the responsibility of the municipalities.
Until June 1, 2024, in Cantabria, the investment made in conservation and maintenance works of waterways amounted to 410 079.42 euros, distributed in 31 actions in 23 municipalities.
