The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has formalized by 1.3 million euros (VAT included) a service contract to auscultate 140,000 km of road markings from the State Road Network (RCE). The corresponding announcement will soon be published in the Official State Gazette (BOE).
The contract aims at the auscultation of horizontal signage (longitudinal road markings) in various sections of the CER, measuring the parameters of light reflections or retroreflection and daytime and night contrasts.
The contract is divided into two lots of 70,000 kms comprising the following roads:
Lot 1:
- Motorways under concession regime.
- Road demarcations of: Western Andalusia, Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla y León Occidental, Extremadura, Galicia, La Rioja and Madrid.
Lot 2:
- Toll highways.
- Road demarcations of: Eastern Andalusia, Aragon, Asturias, Cantabria, Castilla y León Oriental, Catalonia, Valencian Community and Murcia.
Auscultation shall, as a rule, take place on the right side and on the axis of single carriageway roads; and on the right side and the axis of each carriageway on motorways and motorways.
The awardee must generate maps using a GIS (Geographic Information Systems) application of the measured parameters and must integrate the databases of these parameters into the existing geographic information system in the General Directorate of Roads.
In addition, it will present the results of the work in reports divided by road management units (road demarcations, road units, conservation sectors, etc.) in accordance with the instructions of the contract manager. These reports must be delivered within a maximum period of one month, from the end of the data collection campaign carried out in each management unit.
