The Civil Guard of Cantabria has given training in police shooting so far this year to 275 agents of the different bodies of Local Police of Cantabria, within the framework of the Management Order Agreement between the Ministry of the Interior and the Government of Cantabria.
The delegate of the Government in Cantabria, Eugenia Gómez de Diego, visited today together with Lieutenant Colonel Juan Martínez Ros and the Counselor of the Presidency, Isabel Urrutia, the facilities of the shooting gallery located in the quartering of Campogiro (Santander) and witnessed a practical demonstration of the training given.
According to the Government Delegation, the training that the Civil Guard instructs local police includes from security in the handling of weapons to precision shooting, culminating in practices that simulated real situations of the service. Each agent has received a total of five training exercises, including theoretical and practical instruction.
The theoretical-practical sessions will continue to be developed throughout this year, with the aim of guaranteeing the safety of agents and improving their effectiveness in the performance of their functions.
