The delegate of the Government in Cantabria, Ainoa Quiñones, presided on Tuesday the delivery of diplomas to agents of the Civil Guard of Cantabria who last October were trained in assistance maneuvers in a course taught by the College of Nursing.
Together with the colonel of the Civil Guard, Antonio Orantos, and the president of the College of Nursing, Mariluz Fernández, Quiñones has delivered the diplomas to the agents who participated in that course in terms of CPR maneuvers, use of the DESA and tourniquet.
The delegate of the Government has pointed out that it is “essential” that agents of the State Security Forces and Corps are “specially trained” for urgent and/or serious situations that require an immediate health response.
The training organized by the Civil Guard of Cantabria in collaboration with the College of Nursing was intended to provide agents with greater training to address situations that require an immediate response in situations of assistance of people and that may occur in places where, due to their geographical situation, assistance from health resources may be delayed.
Almost a hundred agents participated in the course, in groups of around 25 agents. They took part in the Citizen Security Unit (USECIC), the ROCA teams, the SEPRONA, the fiscal units and the Maritime Service that were formed in the realization of cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers, use of the semi-automatic external defibrillator and the realization of a tourniquet.
