The Council of Ministers, on the proposal of the Ministry of Health, has approved, at its first meeting of the 15th legislature, the distribution of 576,548 euros to Cantabria for various programs of rational use of the drug, cancer surveillance, transplants and bone marrow donation. In total, the autonomous communities and cities will receive an investment of 42.8 million euros for the development of these programs.
At the meeting of the Council of Ministers, in which the Minister of Health, Mónica García, participated, the agreement adopted by the plenary of the Interterritorial Council of the National Health Service (CISNS) on June 23, 2023 has been concretized, where the distribution of funds to the autonomous communities and cities, the latter through the Ingesa, was agreed.
The programme for the development of health cohesion policies and continued training in the rational use of the drug will involve the distribution of 39,339,294.42 euros, of which 514,441 euros will go to Cantabria.
In addition, another million euros will be distributed for the National Cancer Surveillance System, which will provide Cantabria with 36,511 euros.
To these figures is added another 2,136,891 euros for the National Bone Marrow Donation Plan as a health strategy of the SNS Quality Plan and the National Umbilical Cord Blood Plan. From that investment, Cantabria will receive 22,317 euros.
In addition, the Quality and Safety Framework Programme for the procurement and transplantation of human organs will have an investment of 172,845 euros, of which 3,278 euros will go to Cantabria.
