The Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (Mitma) has awarded 530,427 euros (VAT included) for the humanization of the N-629 roads, between the kilometers 86,900 - 87,440; and the N-634, between the kilometers 172,000 - 173,635, as it passes through Colindres (Cantabria).
The project includes improvements in accessibility conditions in pedestrian crossings and removal of architectural barriers in pedestrian routes, replacement of pavement in damaged sidewalks, replacement of current luminaires with LED luminaires and installation of new units, change of traffic lights on the crossing and installation of LED head-lights assembly in smart pedestrian crossings.
This project, included in the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR) financed by the NextGenerationEU funds, shows the change in road policy in favour of sustainable and active mobility, which will improve road safety for pedestrians and cyclists on the crossing, as well as its accessibility.
The objective is to generate, in relation to the State Road Network, a more accessible, inclusive and sustainable urban environment that helps decarbonize urban mobility and improve air quality.
The PRTR plans to invest 105 million euros (VAT not included) in actions for the humanization of crossings, such as this one in Colindres.
