The delegate of the Government in Cantabria, Ainoa Quiñones, has congratulated three agents of the Civil Guard in the Autonomous Community who have obtained medals in the European Games of Police and Firefighters that have been held in Torrevieja from September 29 to October 7.
Quiñones received them this Wednesday in the Government Delegation and congratulated them for their “excellent results in this competition”, in which among the three they have obtained 11 medals, and which “show your great physical and sports preparation”.
One of the medalists was Sergeant Fernando Ávila, assigned to the Judicial Police team of Torrelavega, who won the silver medal in the karate (kumite) test in the male category of over 40 years and more than 84 kilos.
On the other hand, the first Corporal Marcos del Rosal, destined in the Fiscal and Border Patrol of Santoña, obtained two silver medals in athletics, specifically one in 1,500 meters and another in 5,000 meters, both of the Master 45 category.
And Civil Guard agent Sandra Pérez, who was assigned to Liendo’s position, won a total of eight medals in the swimming tests. In his category he achieved gold medal in the tests of 50 back, 4x50 feminine styles, 4x50 feminine free, 4x50 mixed free and 4x50 mixed styles. He also rose with the silver medal in the 100 and 200 back tests and the bronze medal in the 50 free test.
The reception with the delegate of the Government was accompanied by the colonel head of the Civil Guard of Cantabria, Antonio Orantos.
