More than 1,300 agents will ensure the normal development of the electoral day in Cantabria. Members of the National Police, the Civil Guard and the Local Police of the Autonomous Community will form this security device to guarantee citizen security and the exercise of rights and freedoms during next Sunday, May 28.
The Government delegate in Cantabria, Ainoa Quiñones, chaired on Monday the Extraordinary Security Board for the coordination of this security device that will be established on the occasion of the Local and Autonomous Elections.
Quiñones highlighted “the work that has been carried out for months for the organization of this security device in the electoral process, so that the right to vote of citizens is guaranteed and that the electoral day runs normally”.
“The police will ensure the free and peaceful exercise of rights and freedoms and citizen security, as well as the custody of the critical infrastructures of the Autonomous Community that are fundamental for the development of the electoral process of this Sunday, May 28,” he said.
The device will begin at 00.00 hours on the 28th and will last until 9.00 hours on the 29th, said the Government delegate in Cantabria, who thanked the “important work” carried out by the agents of the National Police, the Civil Guard and the Local Police “every day of the year and especially on such important days as the holding of elections”.
