The Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (Mitma) has formalized by 590,562.75 euros (VAT included) the contract for the humanization works of the crossing of the N-634 road as it passes through Pámanes, in the municipality of Liérganes (Cantabria).
The intervention affects the section between the kilometers 202.8 and 206.4 of the aforementioned road and aims to build a safe pedestrian itinerary, contiguous to the road, to give continuity to the pedestrian itinerary existing between the municipal terms of Penagos and Medio Cudeyo and reduce the speed of road traffic throughout its route.
To this end, the current platform of the road will be modified in order to extend the pedestrian band to an average width of 2 meters, the latter will be painted with a differentiated color and the road markings will be replaced. Likewise, the intersections of the N-634 with the CA-617 road and other accesses of the affected road environment will be rearranged.
It will also make it possible to reduce the speed of circulation by reducing the width of the rails and sides, the implementation of new horizontal and vertical signage, and the construction of a roundabout at the junction with the CA-904 road.
The intervention is included in the Recovery Plan, within the program of humanization of crossings, which contemplates an investment of 105 million euros to promote a more sustainable, inclusive and accessible urban environment. With this, it is intended to promote the configuration of cities oriented to return spaces for other forms of alternative mobility to the car and to guarantee the physical connectivity of people.
