The Cantabrian Hydrographic Confederation has begun maintenance and conservation work in the Comedian stream, in the vicinity of the Secada neighborhood, in the municipality of Ruesga.
The stream of the Comedian stream, in the immediate vicinity of the Secada, passes to an area with peaks where it is soterra in a natural way. These sinks represent the main route of evacuation of the runoff waters of the valley. The accumulation of tailings caused by episodes of rain has caused its obstruction, limiting its drainage capacity and causing water to reach the neighborhood, threatening the nearest homes.
Work has begun on the extraction and elimination of the remains that generate the plugging of the sinks, in addition to the removal of trunks and branches from the interior of the channel to guarantee the drainage of the sima and avoid new overflows. For its execution, manual means are used, in the work of unravelling and cutting, and the support of mechanical means for the extraction of the larger remains.
The performance includes the stretch that goes from the sump to the point where the stream reaches the CA-266 road. These actions have an estimated budget of 33.800 €.
This work is carried out through the public company Tragsa within the Maintenance and Conservation of Waterways Program developed by the Cantabrian Hydrographic Confederation outside urban areas, in which the conservation and maintenance of waterways are the responsibility of the municipalities.
