The delegate of the Government in Cantabria, Ainoa Quiñones, highlighted the commitment of the State Security Forces and Corps “in the protection of citizenship, the defense of the general interest and the guarantee of security, coexistence and social peace” in the act of imposition of the decorations of the Order of Civil Merit to the agent of the National Police Juan José Guerrero and the captain of the Civil Guard Juan Álamo.
This has been pointed out this Thursday in the act of imposition of these decorations, which has been held in the Government Delegation and in which he has extolled that both “public servants” are “example” for their “personal, professional and social” performance, in short for a “work carried out 365 of the year, during working hours and outside it”.
In this regard, he has highlighted the “deserved” recognition of the National Police officer Juan José Guerrero, to whom he has imposed the Cross of the Order to Civil Merit.
“On August 18, when he was off duty, he saved the life of an 18-month-old boy who was drowning in the parking lot of the public school Buenaventura Rodríguez in Santa Cruz de Bezana in the face of his mother’s despair and helplessness,” said the government delegate.
Quiñones has extolled that his work saved the child’s life “as recognized by the SUAP doctors who attended the child shortly afterwards.” “That commitment, that we do not think twice about helping and assisting a citizen who demonstrated with his act Juan José is the best value of our State Security Forces and Bodies,” he said.
For his part, Agent Juan Guerrero thanked the Government Delegation for this recognition, a gratitude that he extended to his family, the National Police, the Senior Police Chief and his colleagues from the Operational Response Group (GOR) who accompanied him at the event.
Subsequently, Quiñones has imposed the Cross of Order Officer on Civil Merit to the captain of the Civil Guard Juan Álamo, who stressed that “he has participated actively, full initiative and availability in the successful development of police operations developed from the specialty of judicial police and complex information, typical of the fight against organized crime.”
In his words, Captain Juan Alamo has assured that this award is “an incentive to continue maintaining the daily effort” and has pointed out that this Officer’s Cross is also a recognition for “all the comrades who are behind” his work as head of the Civil Guard Information Group, body in which he has been for 33 years. He has also appreciated the role of his family in his trajectory in the body.
The event was attended by the Counselors of the Presidency, Economy and Public Works, Paula Fernández, Ana Belén Álvarez and Jezabel Morán; the President of the High Court of Justice of Cantabria (TSJC), José Luis López del Moral; the Superior Prosecutor of Cantabria, Pilar Jiménez; the Superior Chief of Police, Carmen Martínez; and the Chief Colonel of the Civil Guard, Antonio Orantos, among other civil and military authorities, as well as family and friends of the decorated.
