The sixth stage of the Cycling Tour to Spain for women will take place this coming Saturday, May 6, entirely in Cantabria, specifically between Castro Urdiales and Laredo and will force five links to be cut off from the A-8 motorway and will also affect regional roads.
The route of this stage of the First Women’s Tour by Carrefour.es will be 106.7 kilometers. It is a half mountain stage, the only one of this year’s route, with two second-class ports, Fuente de las Varas (442 meters) and Campo El Hayal (420 meters).
The stage will start after 12 noon on Saturday and the main traffic conditions will take place in Castro Urdiales, from where the exit will take place; in Laredo, municipality where the finish will be; and Santoña, since the route of the cyclists crosses the aforementioned town.
The delegate of the Government in Cantabria, Ainoa Quiñones, met this Thursday with the head of the Road Demarcation of Cantabria, Rosendo Martínez; the provincial head of Traffic, José Miguel Tolosa; and the commander of the Traffic Sector of the Civil Guard of Cantabria, Rubén Flores, to finalize the details of the device.
In the meeting, the traffic management that will have to be carried out during the day of Saturday and in which the links of the A-8 motorway in Castro Urdiales (kilometric point 151 in both directions), Islares (in the p.k. 156 sense Santander), Laredo/Seña/Tarrueza at p.k. 169 in both senses), Laredo (in the p.k. 172 in both senses) and Cicero (in the p.k. 177 in both directions).
The cuts in these links will be duly signaled in the variable messaging panels of the A-8 motorway managed by the DGT and the Civil Guard.
The stage of the First Women’s Tour by Carrefour.es will pass through the municipalities of Castro Urdiales, Guriezo, Liendo, Laredo, Colindres, Bárcena de Cicero, Santoña, Argoños, Arnuero, Meruelo, Escalante, Solórzano, Hazas de Cesto, Ruesga, Voto and Ampuero.
