The Government, through the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA), will enter on Monday 94,538 euros in the current accounts of the 151 holders of agricultural holdings in Cantabria, who will benefit from State aid to compensate for the rise in the price of fertilizers.
This aid has a total allocation of 280,836,010 euros for beneficiary farmers in all the autonomous communities. The investment will be divided among the 234,291 holders of agricultural holdings listed in the Final list published on March 31 by the Spanish Agricultural Guarantee Fund (FEGA).
This State aid was approved by the Government through Royal Decree-Law 20/2022, of 27 December, on measures to respond to the economic and social consequences of the war in Ukraine and support for the reconstruction of the island of La Palma and other vulnerable situations.
The farmers who receive the payment today are those who were included in the provisional resolution that was published on February 15, who did not submit claims that require a detailed analysis and who are aware of their tax and social security obligations.
The remaining funds up to the EUR 300 million allocated to this measure will subsequently be granted to those owners of farms that meet the set of requirements necessary to receive this aid.
Thus, at the end of April, a second check will be carried out to verify whether those holders who were not aware of their obligations have corrected this circumstance and can thus receive their aid.
The aid is granted to areas of permanent crops and farmland (except fallow land and temporary pasture) that have been eligible for direct aid under the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) in the 2022 season, up to a maximum of 300 hectares per beneficiary.
Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) campaign
In addition, the EAGGF has sent to the autonomous communities, for their analysis, allegations related to aspects of the campaign of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) 2022. Subsequently, they will be resolved and, if appropriate, the corresponding aid will be paid.
Farmers who have not yet received the payments of direct CAP aid corresponding to the single application for the 2022 marketing year, and finally receive them within the ordinary period for making the payment, will be communicated again by the autonomous communities to the EAGGF and included ex officio in a new supplementary resolution of holders of agricultural holdings.
