The delegate of the Government in Cantabria, Ainoa Quiñones, has highlighted the commitment of the Government of Spain so that the European funds Next Generation EU “reach every corner of our country and help to transform each people”.
Therefore, the Government has strengthened the system for accessing and processing European funds with support linked to the territory and municipalities, specifically with a service for the assistance and dynamization of the participation of Public Administrations in the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR).
The company Tragsatec is in charge of providing this service aimed at municipalities of less than 5,000 inhabitants that this Monday have presented to representatives of municipalities of Cantabria the delegate of the Government, Ainoa Quiñones, and the territorial manager of Tragsa, José Luis González Marquina.
Together with other technicians of the company, he explained that this service promoted by the Ministry of Finance and Public Function will serve so that the consistories, especially the smallest ones, have a technical and assistance support that allows them to have more possibilities of opting for European funds to be able to process all the documentation or disseminate what is necessary.
“The government wants all administrations to be able to apply for the funds on an equal basis: the small municipalities do not have so many staff or so specific, but that should not detract from the possibilities of their neighbors,” said the delegate, who pointed out that the development of this service in the national whole represents an investment of more than 69 million euros.
During the briefing, attended by mayors and municipal representatives from 21 municipalities in Cantabria, Quiñones stressed that, “with the implementation of this service, the Government wants to improve even more the tools to speed up the procedures, management and execution of European funds.”
The accession of the municipalities to this service is voluntary since it is about giving more tools to the administrations to attend and manage the Next Generation EU funds.
