A total of 159 holders of agricultural holdings will benefit from the 100,178 euros that the Government will allocate to Cantabria to compensate for the increase in the price of fertilizers. The beneficiaries of the aid can be consulted in the provisional list published this Wednesday by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, in this link.
This aid, which has a total budget of 296,999,081 euros for all the autonomous communities, was approved by the Government through Royal Decree-Law 20/2022, of 27 December, on measures to respond to the economic and social consequences of the war in Ukraine and support for the reconstruction of the island of La Palma and other vulnerable situations.
The aid is granted to areas of permanent crops and farmland (except fallow land and temporary pasture) that have been eligible for direct aid under the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) in the 2022 season. In the case of Cantabria, a total of 4,326 hectares would be eligible for this subsidy.
Aid will be granted when the amount to be received is equal to or greater than 200 euros, and up to a maximum of 300 hectares per beneficiary, in which the irrigated area will be prioritized. It is planned that beneficiaries who meet the conditions established for access to this aid and who have not submitted claims may receive this aid before the end of April, in order to be able to count on these supports for the cover subscriber.
Based on the provisional data of eligible farms and the number of hectares that would be eligible for this aid, which are approximately 10.6 million hectares, and in order to avoid exceeding the maximum estimated amount by type of area, a linear adjustment has been made to the unit amounts indicated in the royal decree-law, in such a way that a unit amount of 20.82 euros per hectare of dry land and 52.06 euros per hectare of irrigated land has been established.
The budget allocated is 297 million euros, since a bag of 3 million euros has been reserved to deal with possible allegations.
