The government delegate in Cantabria, Ainoa Quiñones, confirmed on Monday that the office of the State Tax Administration Agency (AEAT) will maintain its office in the municipality of Reinosa.
Quiñones held a meeting on Monday with the special delegate of the State Tax Administration Agency in the Autonomous Community, Miguel Cárcaba, in which they addressed “the controversy aroused around an issue on which at no time had the Ministry of Finance made a decision.”
“Faced with the concern of the neighbors and municipal representatives of Reinosa, initiate contacts with the Ministry headed by María Jesús Montero to know first-hand the situation of the office of the Tax Agency in the municipality,” said the delegate.
Thus, Quiñones has assured that from the Treasury they indicated that the Planning and Institutional Relations Service of the Tax Agency (SEPRI) was carrying out a study on the operation of some public service offices throughout the national territory, among which was that of the Campurrian capital.
“But, at no time had the Ministry of Finance made the decision to close this office as warned by some parties and groups, which have only managed to generate unnecessary concern to the residents of Reinosa and the region of Campoo,” he said.
Thus, the delegate of the Government has assured that “the commitment of the Ministry of Finance is to maintain the office of the Tax Agency of Reinosa to continue providing service to the whole region” and, in addition, the office will be provided with “the necessary staff to continue providing a quality service”.
Quiñones has highlighted that the presence of these State services in municipalities helps prevent population loss in rural areas, making it “one more tool in the fight against rural depopulation”.
In this sense, Quiñones has praised “the commitment of the Government of Spain in the fight against depopulation”, as shown by the implementation of the Plan ‘The Administration near you’.
This Plan was launched in mid-November and has already been highlighted in 21 municipalities of Cantabria, up to which officials of the Government Delegation in Cantabria move so that neighbors can carry out consultations, procedures and procedures with the General Administration of the State in their municipalities.
The Plan ‘The Administration near you’ is an initiative of the Ministry of Territorial Policy that will reach 68 municipalities of the Autonomous Community of between 500 and 8,000 inhabitants, bringing the services of the State to almost 150,000 Cantabrians and Cantabrians.
