The Government Delegation in the Canary Islands has completed and signed 81 files of unaccompanied migrant minors for transfer to Peninsula in application of both article 5 and the first additional provision of Royal Decree 658/2025.
To these transfer files processed by the Subdelegation of the Government in Las Palmas and the Subdelegation of the Government in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and resolved by the Delegation of the Government in the Canary Islands, are added the 35 filed by majority of the migrant person after report of the Fiscal Ministry and the 2 filed by negative report of the Prosecutor’s Office considering that they were rooted in the Canary Islands.
In accordance with the aforementioned Royal Decree regulating the measures to be adopted in situations of extraordinary migratory contingency for the protection of the best interests of unaccompanied migrant children and adolescents, from the notification of the resolution of location and transfer, the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands must execute the departure of the child to the Community of destination within a maximum period of five calendar days.
With these resolutions “we take an important step to expedite the dossiers”, said the government delegate in the Canary Islands, Anselmo Pestana.
