The government delegate in the Canary Islands, Anselmo Pestana, accompanied by the subdelegate of the Government in Las Palmas, Teresa Mayans, and by the president of the Community of Municipalities of the North of Gran Canaria, Teodoro Sosa, has presided today a meeting to advance the coordination of security in the area.
The meeting, held at the headquarters of the Government Delegation in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and in which the Chief General of the Civil Guard Area of the Canary Islands, Juan Hernández, as well as representatives of municipalities that make up the Mancomunidad, also participated, demonstrated the will of both the Government of Spain and the municipal administrations to continue increasing the number of Civil Guard and Local Police personnel.
In addition, it has been agreed to strengthen coordination between the Company of Santa María de Guía de la Guardia Civil and local police forces in the north of Gran Canaria, especially with regard to citizen security functions.
And the good results in terms of security have been highlighted by the collaboration of all the Security Forces and Bodies in the development of the various events and events with great public assistance carried out in the municipalities of the north of Gran Canaria.
