The Government Delegation in the Canary Islands values and recognizes for the sixth consecutive year the messages for equality and against gender violence that girls and boys of the Archipelago have launched through their drawings within the VI Canary Islands Pictorial Contest for Gender Equality.
The Government delegate in the Canary Islands, Anselmo Pestana, and the Government subdelegate in Las Palmas, Teresa Mayans, have today presented at the CEIP Las Vegas de Valsequillo the prize to the winner for Gran Canaria of this contest, which is organized every year by the Government Delegation on the occasion of the 25N, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
“Once again, from the Government Delegation in the Canary Islands, we wanted to approach schools to promote equality and raise awareness about gender violence. And once again, we have received a prompt and positive response from the educational community,” says Anselmo Pestana.
“We are happy to see how the younger generations, with their authenticity and naturalness, continue to give valuable lessons to adults about the vision we must adopt in terms of equality between men and women. This experience reinforces the conviction that commitment from an early age is fundamental to building a more just and equitable society,” he adds.
