The Subdelegation of the Government in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, through its Unit on Violence against Women, has organized training sessions for the Local Police of Tenerife on the issue of VioGén, the system that the State put in place in 2007 to allow the rapid, comprehensive and effective monitoring and protection of battered women, and their sons and daughters.
The head of the Violence against Women Unit of the Government Subdelegation, Rosa Sánchez-Romo, accompanied by the Mayor of Puerto de la Cruz, Marco González, has inaugurated these training days today, highlighting the importance of the role played by the State Security Forces and Bodies in the face of the problem of gender violence and the need for the Local Police to also collaborate actively in the protection of victims.
This training is given in the Plenary Hall of the City of El Puerto de La Cruz and has more than 50 agents attending them, coming from the municipalities of Buenavista del Norte, San Juan de la Rambla, La Guancha, Puerto de la Cruz, Los Realejos, La Orotava, La Victoria de Acentejo, Tacoronte, Tegueste, La Laguna, Granadilla de Abona and Adeje.
During the different presentations, important aspects such as the protocols of action and the drafting of reports derived from VioGén actions, “cyberviolence”, the network of resources of personalized attention or practical aspects of the interview to the victims of gender violence will be discussed. The presentations are made by specialized staff of the National Police and Civil Guard, as well as by Subdelegation of the Government and the Cabildo of Tenerife.
