The football match that will be held this Saturday in the capital of Tenerife between the Sports Club Tenerife and the Sports Union Las Palmas will have a wide security device, as agreed at a meeting held in the Subdelegation of the Government in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
The security meeting, held this Wednesday, March 15 to prepare the security device of the canarian derby of the 32nd day of the Second Division of the Spanish Football League, was presided over by the subdelegate of the Government in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Javier Plata, and by the subdelegate in Las Palmas, Teresa Mayans, who participated by videoconference from the capital of Gran Canaria.
The meeting was also attended by the Councilor for Security and Mobility of the City of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Evelyn Alonso; the Security Directors of CD Tenerife, Maximo Bethencourt, and of UD Las Palmas, Manuel Hernández, respectively, as well as representatives of the National Police, Civil Guard and Local Police of the capital of Tenerife.
The device established for the party, declared as high-risk, coordinates agents of the National Police, Civil Guard and Local Police of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, as well as private security, Red Cross and Civil Protection officers.
With regard to the State Security Forces and Corps (FCSE), the device will be composed of 230 personnel, including agents of the Police Intervention Unit (UIP) of the National Police, citizen security and the UCO of the Civil Guard of the two provinces, as well as a helicopter and a drone for surveillance.
Within the scope of the competences of the City Police, all the usual traffic measures will be adopted in this type of sports meetings with the aim of limiting the environment of the Heliodoro Rodríguez López stadium and guaranteeing security, including the closure of traffic from 1.30 p.m. on Saturday of the main roads adjacent to the sports complex: Avenida San Sebastián and the streets Heliodoro Rodríguez López, Eduardo Zamacois and Fernando Barajas Prat. There will also be parking bans, of which the main ones will be in force from 12 noon.
The Local Police and the City Council of Santa Cruz de Tenerife will also carry out the appropriate escorts and prior review of the itineraries in the transfers of both the visiting team and their fans, in coordination with the National Police.
