The Council of Ministers approved on Tuesday at its weekly meeting and on the proposal of the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, the Royal Decree by which Cecilia Pérez Sánchez is appointed delegate of the Government of Spain in the Autonomous Community of the Principality of Asturias.
The appointment will be effective once it is published in the Official State Gazette (BOE). Cecilia Pérez Sánchez takes over the position of Adriana Lastra Fernández, who has been the highest representative of the Central Executive in the Principality of Asturias since July 2024.
Biography of the new delegate
The new delegate, Cecilia Pérez, has been mayor of El Franco since 2003, with a previous stage as councilor since 1995 and as mayor between 1999 and 2000. She has also been president of the Asturian Federation of Councils (FACC) from 2019 to the present and vice-president of the Territorial Council of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) in the 2019/2023 legislature.
