The delegate of the Government in Asturias, Adriana Lastra, has participated in the presentation of the book ‘Asturias and the National Police, two centuries of history’, together with the superior head of the National Police in Asturias, Principal Commissioner Luis Carlos Espino, and the mayor of Gijón, Carmen Moriyón.
In her speech, Lastra stressed that the book, written by national police officers Juan Antonio Martín and Alberto Álvarez, “is not only a testimony of the past, but a window to the unwavering commitment of an institution that has accompanied our society over the past two centuries.”
This was the first time that the government delegate has addressed the National Police in public since her appointment, so she has taken the opportunity to say to the agents that they are “a formidable team”: “I am proud of your work, on many occasions over your duty. Because behind every uniform, behind every badge, there is a story of dedication, courage and humanity.”
