From 18 to 20 July, the Boombastic Asturias 2024 Festival is held at the La Morgal venue in Llanera, an event that hopes to bring together 50,000 spectators.
Due to the large number of attendees, the DGT has designed a Traffic Management and Road Safety Plan that includes measures that, in collaboration with public and private agencies, guarantee road safety and minimize the affection to traffic of this multitudinous event.
On the morning of Tuesday, July 16, with the opening of the areas authorized for rest, buses will begin to arrive gradually from different points throughout Spain that will move up to 20,000 people.
For attendees who choose to use the private vehicle, the organization has arranged in the surroundings of the La Morgal enclosure five parking areas with capacity for more than 10,000 vehicles.
On the other hand, for people who come by taxi or are approached in a private vehicle, specific areas of ascent and descent have been proposed in the streets Pracesa, Sal-H4, Sal-H5 and Lake Enol of Lugo de Llanera.
To the regular public transport service of train and bus, which can add additional frequencies, there are shuttle buses from Oviedo, Gijón and Avilés, so it is recommended to use these means to access the festival, as a way to avoid the collapse due to the excessive influx of private vehicles.
To facilitate access and provide security to attendees, the AS-374 cart between Posada and Lugo de Llanera will be cut from 06:00 hours on Monday 15 hours to 06:00 hours on Monday 22, allowing only access for residents, authorized vehicles of the organization and public services of La Morgal.
As part of the operation established by the DGT, 2 mobile traffic video surveillance cameras will be installed at the crossing of Pando Avenue with the AS-374 and at the entrance to La Morgal, as well as 2 mobile variable messaging panels that will be operated from the Traffic Control Center of the Northwest Cantabrian in A Coruña.
Specific signage will also be installed for access to Boombastic on motorways, general roads and highways, as well as parking entries and other relevant indications in Lugo and Posada.
In order to guarantee road safety, the Civil Guard Traffic Group, in addition to the usual traffic control tasks, will increase the controls on the presence of alcohol and drugs in drivers.
Once the festival is over, the return will take place gradually between Sunday 21st and Monday 22nd July.
