The delegate of the Government, Delia Losa, has presided this morning a meeting to coordinate the security device of the League match that Real Sporting de Gijón and Real Oviedo will play in the Municipal Stadium of El Molinón – Enrique Castro ‘Quini’ at 18:30 hours next Saturday.
The measures are similar to those adopted in the match between the two teams at the Carlos Tartiere Stadium in September and reduce the waiting times of the visiting team’s animation stands compared to last season. As always, security is prioritized considering that they are parties declared high-risk by the State Commission against violence, racism, xenophobia and intolerance in sport, and with the intention that the hobbies of both teams can enjoy the sports show.
According to the device, fans registered in the follower activity register will access the stadium after the players of the two teams do so, and not before, as was done until last season. In this way, and taking into account that players enter the venue 90 minutes before the start of the game, fans of the entertainment hall will access the stadium at 17 hours. The remaining fans of the visiting team will enter about an hour before the game begins. The waiting time is reduced by half compared to last season.
Next Saturday the fans of Real Oviedo registered in the register of activities of followers will have to go to the Municipal Stadium of El Molinón – Enrique Castro ‘Quini’ in buses bagged in a special security device. These groups will be registered when accessing the buses and will not have to go through security checks at the stadium.
For the rest of the fans of the visiting team, a meeting point will be enabled in the Sports Palace of Gijón from which they will travel on foot to the stadium and protected by a security device. They, like the rest of the meeting attendees, will have to pass the security control to access the sports venue, as usual.
The National Police, with the collaboration of the Local Police of Gijón, will start from Saturday morning a device in the surroundings of the stadium and in the areas where more crowds of fans are expected. The National Police will deploy Special Units UIP, UPR, Tedax, Subsoil, Canine Guides, Citizen Care Groups and Information Brigades. As established by Royal Decree 203/2010, random blood alcohol checks will be made at the accesses to the stadium and entry will be prohibited to those who present symptoms of drunkenness.
Members of the Civil Guard Traffic Group will be in charge of the security of the buses in which the fans of Real Oviedo will travel, as well as the vehicles in which the players of the two football teams will travel to the stadium.
At the meeting, the delegate of the Government in Asturias, Delia Losa, highlighted the “positive result” of the measures adopted at the meeting held in Oviedo, highlighted the work and coordination of the Security Forces and Corps and thanked the directors of the two teams for the good relations they currently maintain and that helps to ensure a good atmosphere between the fans.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Government Delegation, the Civil Guard, the National Police, the local police of Gijón and Oviedo and Real Sporting and Real Oviedo.
