During the months of July and August seven people died on the interurban roads of Asturias, three more fatalities than in the same period last year and six more than in 2019.
With eight people dead, 2022 next to 2017, they rank as the highest number of deaths in the last ten years.
For months, in July there were four fatal accidents in which so many people died, one more than in July 2022. In August there were four fatal accidents with four deaths, two more than in August 2022.
FORECASTS MET
During the months of July and August there have been 93.6 million long-distance journeys by road, 0.3% more than last summer, a figure that is the highest recorded in the historical series.
In terms of surveillance and control, the Civil Guard Traffic Group has conducted 1.2 million alcohol tests and 18,000 illegal drug tests.
In Asturias, the increase in mobility in July and August compared to the same period in 2022 was around 10%.
