The delegate of the Government, Delia Losa, has presided this morning a meeting to coordinate the security device of the League match that Real Oviedo and Real Sporting de Gijón will play next Saturday at the Carlos Tartiere Stadium and that will be similar in the meeting that will be held this season at the El Molinón Stadium.
After listening to the requests of the rocks of the two teams, Aparo and Unipes, it has been decided to attend to their main demand, reducing the waiting times of the animation stands of the visiting team. As always, prioritizing security taking into account that they are parties declared high-risk by the State Commission against violence, racism, xenophobia and intolerance in sport, and with the intention that the hobbies of both teams can enjoy the sports show.
Thus, this season, fans registered in the follower activity register will access the stadium after the players of the two teams do so, and not before as it has been done until now. In this way, and taking into account that players enter the venue 90 minutes before the start of the match, fans of the animation stand will enter about an hour before the game begins. The waiting time is reduced by half compared to last season.
As in the previous seasons, next Saturday the fans of the Real Sporting de Gijón registered in the register of activities of followers will have to go to the Carlos Tartiere Stadium in buses bagged in a special security device. These groups will be registered when accessing the buses and will not have to go through security checks at the stadium in order to reduce the waiting time.
For the rest of the fans of the visiting team, a meeting point will be enabled in Oviedo from which they will travel on foot to the stadium and protected by a security device. They, like the rest of the meeting attendees, will have to pass the security control to access the sports venue, as usual.
The National Police, with the collaboration of the Local Police of Oviedo, will start from Saturday morning a device in the surroundings of the Carlos Tartiere Stadium and in the areas where more fans are expected. The National Police will deploy Special Units UIP, UPR, Tedax, Subsoil, Canine Guides, Citizen Care Groups and Information Brigades. As established by Royal Decree 203/2010, checks on alcohol and random narcotic substances will be made at the entrances to the stadium and entry will be prohibited to those who present symptoms of drunkenness.
Members of the Traffic Group of the Civil Guard will be in charge of the security of the buses in which the fans of Real Sporting de Gijón will travel, as well as the vehicles in which the players of the two football teams will travel to the stadium.
At the meeting, the delegate of the Government in Asturias, Delia Losa, highlighted the lack of relevant incidents in the games played last season and thanked the directors of the two teams for the good relations they currently have and that helps to have a good atmosphere between the fans.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Government Delegation, the Civil Guard, the National Police, the local police of Gijón and Oviedo and Real Sporting and Real Oviedo.
